Winning In The Future Markets: A Money-Making Guide to Trading Hedging and Speculating, Revised Edition by George Angell

Summary

A great introductory book on trading futures. Unlike those tour guide style trading books, the author essentially disclosed a practical method to trade commodity futures and specifically the S&P 500 index future. His LSS method is his distilled wisdom from classic trading techniques. Many famous traders nowadays all acknowledge this book as one of their major influence. It is how significant this book is in the trading world.

What Works on Wall Street, Fourth Edition: The Classic Guide to the Best-Performing Investment Strategies of All Time by James O’Shaughnessy

Summary

In 1990s, this book was the first of its kind trying to explain what produces superior return on investment based on measured statistics. The conclusions and investment ideas made in the book do not perform well since the publishing of the book. It is not a surprise as those concepts are purely derived from the bull market era.

Difficulties In Learning To Trade Can Be Caused By The Language You Speak

Ted Talk by Keith Chen, Could your language affect your ability to save money?

Very interesting talk with strong statistics supporting the concept.

Personally I have experience teaching / coaching traders where it was next to impossible to hammer the concept of risk control into some young guns.

Maybe, the way how they perceive future is so different from my point of view that it is better to find someone else who understand their perspectives to explain the concept to them.
