Summary

Great introduction to trading system design. Not too complex, not too dry. Detail enough to be the text book on trading system design if it were used in a college degree course. The examples in the book are easy to understand even if you are not using TradeStation. Some statistics background necessary. Highly recommended as the introductory text for anyone interested in developing mechanical trading models.

This is a short book taking on the word strategy with humour. I have seen so many books written on the topic of trading strategies with huge diversity in their content that I cannot help but wonder what the word strategy really means. It is a fun read for those who question the very concept of stragegy. Thus this book is going to disappoint those who look for table pounding, out of breath shouting materials on what strategy should be.

Not your usual trading book because 1. it is written by Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater Associates, the worlds largest hedge fund; 2. It is a way to live and think where trading success will be the manifestation or outcome if you choose to; 3. It is so controversial some people call this the manual of a cult. Highly recommended.
