Summary

Good book with clear trading rules. Many statistics and actual examples are there to explain what the trading setups are trying to accomplish. Not a book for beginners as the information provided are quite technical in nature. The language used can be offending to people who cannot put down their ego to see what the other side of the game has been doing to take their money.

Beyond Technical Analysis: How to Develop and Implement a Winning Trading System, 2nd Edition by Tushar S. Chande

Summary

Great introduction to trading system design. Not too complex, not too dry. Detail enough to be the text book on trading system design if it were used in a college degree course. The examples in the book are easy to understand even if you are not using TradeStation. Some statistics background necessary. Highly recommended as the introductory text for anyone interested in developing mechanical trading models.

I have seen so many books written on the topic of trading strategies with huge diversity in their content that I cannot help but wonder what the word strategy really means. It is a fun read for those who question the very concept of stragegy. Thus this book is going to disappoint those who look for table pounding, out of breath shouting materials on what strategy should be.
